“Gusto ng Supreme Court na maibalik yung quality sa Manila Bay into a swimmable quality”

This was PCOL. (Atty.) Oliver Tanseco’s response in an interview with Tinig Media when asked about the rehabilitation of rivers around Manila Bay.


Police Colonel (Atty) Oliver Tanseco is the new Regional Chief of NCR PNP MARITIME UNIT and also serves as Chief of the Operations Management Division of PNP-HPG. He manages road safety laws and law enforcement while operating the coastal area around Metro Manila.


Attorney Tanseco is in -charge of the protection, conservation, and law enforcement of areas in Manila Bay, as also the waters of Manila Bay before it goes down to the provinces of Cavite and Bulacan. His office, also take-charge of the coastal areas and harbors in NCR.


NCR PNP MARITIME UNIT Chief discussed how they handle sea passengers in the middle of a pandemic. He mentioned that they also follow the 50% capacity in ships and boats same capacity rules implemented in land transportations to. He added that they are also the ones who implement the rules in sea transportation or watercraft including the transportation in the Pasig River.


In his talk, Atty. Tanseco also mentioned that the Maritime Group is offering a program entitled Savior of the Sea, headed by General Jamili. “It is a training program that is open to any interested volunteers like, fishermen, members of the family, or anyone in the community. We train individuals on how to survive in the sea, we teach them how to swim and also how to properly conduct Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to an emergency patient, in particular a drowned patient.”


Colonel Tanseco ended the interview by encouraging the youths to finish their studies and choose the program that is really needed and can be a big help in the country, not a course that is chosen by many because it is the trending one.


"Alam ninyo po ba na ang pagsasaka, ang pangingisda ay kailangan din po nating balikan... Kaya lang sino po ba ang magsasabi na gusto kong maging farmer? Kaya lang po kasi 'yun ang kailangan. Ako gusto ko maging Fishery Scientist, aba eh kailangan po namin kayo, kasi hindi pupuwedeng nakatingin lang tayo sa technology. We must go back to the basic." PCOL (Atty.) Oliver Tanseco’s messaged for the youth in relations to the celebration of Buwan ng Wika this August 30, 2021.
